Macabre Gymnast

I was very happy to find this squirrel dead. For some reason I am infatuated by death and the different forms and appearances it can take. I find the position of the body very interesting. How everything seems to go limp and you become a macabre gymnast, bending and twisting in ways not possible while blood runs warm and you can still feel the pulse in your neck. This photo reminds me of crime scene photos I have seen by legendary photographer Weegee. So today I will dedicate this post and photograph to Weegee. Here are some links to enjoy his work.
